Apple Arcade adding game by Zelda developer

Several new games are coming to Apple Arcade in June, including an original release from the studio behind Link's Awakening on the Switch.

The increasingly impressive Apple Arcade game lineup will soon include a title by Grezzo, the Japanese developer that’s worked on several The Legend of Zelda remasters for Nintendo.

Jet Dragon is an original game and will be exclusive to Apple’s subscription service. It puts you into the shoes of a dragon racer on the world of Venerusa, although you don’t just get to steer your fire-breathing ally around set course. You also get to build a team, and raise and train the dragons you race, so there is strategy to work out too.

The game will be available for iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and Mac from 16 June 2023. You won’t have to pay a penny more for future content neither, as it’s part of Apple Arcade.

Also coming to the service this month are Retro Bowl+, Retro Goal+ and Millionaire Trivia: TV Game+. The latter is easy to work out – it’s the Apple Arcade version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, but with plenty of extra bells and whistles, plus no in-app purchases or costly surprises.

Retro Bowl+ and Retro Goal+ are from New Star Games – the studio behind the most addictive football game on the planet, New Star Soccer. They are each inspired by the 16-bit era of gaming and play jolly good games of American football and soccer respectively.

Finally, Bold Moves+ was added to the platform today, 9 June. It’s a match 3 word puzzle game that’s a hoot for a commute.

Apple Arcade is a subscription service that provides access to more than 100 games for iOS, iPadOS, tvOS and macOS – any Apple device, basically. You can also play on one device and pick up your save on another.

It costs £4.99 / $4.99 per month when subscribing directly, but is also included in the Apple One plan with other services, including TV+. You can find out more and how much the additional plans cost in our in-depth feature on Apple Arcade.
