Retro games specialist, Evercade, has held its first dedicated games showcase and announced several new cartridges coming for its home and handheld consoles.

There are two Duke Nukem Collection cartridges inbound, with the first featuring Duke Nukem 1 + 2 Remastered, plus a native port of Duke Nukem 3D.

The first two games are 2D platformers that have rarely appeared for other machines. The remasters are being developed by the owner of Evercade, Blaze Entertainment.

The Duke Nukem Collection 2 will feature some rare gems, including the 32-bit Duke Nukem: Time to Kill and Duke Nukem: Land of the Babes – neither have been re-released before. They will be joined by Duke Nukem Advance.

Both collections will be available to pre-order in August and priced at £17.99 / $19.99 each.

Already available to pre-order is a special edition version of the Evercade VS home console, which will ship with the two Duke Nukem Collections. The Evercade VS Atomic Edition features a design inspired by the action films and games of the 80s and 90s, including Duke Nukem, and costs £119.99 in the UK. It’s available to pre-order from Funstock now.

Other new Evercade cartridges coming soon

The other cartridges announced during the Evercade Showcase include the Delphine Software Collection 1, which features Another World, Flashback, Future Wars and Operation Stealth.

There’s the Sunsoft Collection 1 too, with Aero the Acro-Bat, Arabian, Blaster Master, Blaster Master Boy, Journey to Silius, and Mr Gimmick!.

Both of these collections will be available from September 2023.

The Sydney Hunter Collection from CollectorVision Games contains Sydney Hunter and the Shrines of Peril, Sydney Hunter and the Secret Tribe, Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death, and Jester.

And lastly, the Piko Interactive Arcade 1 pack features a collection of rare coin-op classics from the 90s – Dragon Master, Master’s Fury, Fancy World: Earth of Crisis, Magic Purple, The Legend of Slikroad, Burglar X, Ultimate Tennis, Steel Force, and Diver Boy.

These latter cartridges are available to pre-order now for release in August.
